The first feature by the young Raúl Ruiz is regarded as the start of a new Chilean cinema. Ruiz observes three marginalized young people over a weekend in Santiago: Tito, who works at a car dealer’s, meets his sister Amanda, a striptease dancer and occasional prostitute, and his friend Luis. A film full of unlikely occurrences, incidents, encounters and digressions in which the monotony of a visit to a bar at night functions as a metaphor for the emptiness of life. The print from the Arsenal archive is one of the only ones of the film still in existence.
